IAS Exam 2015

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the government organization of India, which authorized to conduct the competitive examinations like Civil Services, Engineering Services, CDS, NDA, NA, CMS and IES exams for the Group A, Group B and Group C Technical vacancies in the departments, Organizations and Ministries under the government of Country. UPSC Conducts Civil Services Examination (CSE) every year in two phase’s i.e Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. The UPSC CSE Prelims pattern 2015 has given below. As we all know that, Civil Services exam is the toughest competitive exam in India.

IAS Prelims Pattern 2015

Candidate should have hard work, patience, perseverance to clear the exam, because  of toughness of the exam. Every candidate who has a dream of Civil Services should know the UPSC Prelims pattern 2015. Through this Civil Services Examination, the government offers IAS, IPS, IFS and IPTAFS, IAAS, ICAS, IRTS, IRAS Group A & Group B posts. Civil Services examination is well known by IAS Exam. Candidate must qualify in prelims exam to appear in Mains Exam. The IAS prelims pattern 2015 is given below.

Qualification:

A candidate must be a graduate to appear in this examination. Those who have appeared in qualifying degree are also eligible. Candidate must have completed 21 years of age. 

Number of Attempts Permissible:

  • General Category: 6
  • OBC Category: 9
  • SC/ST Category: Unlimited till the age of 37 years

UPSC Prelims Pattern 2015

Candidate who are preparing for Civil Services Exam 2015 they must know the IAS Prelims pattern 2015 available on official site or below. This year Preliminary Examination will be on 23rd August 2015. So, candidate must check the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam Pattern 2015. Exam pattern will give you the clear idea about the exam and what are the areas you need to give more concentration. UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam Pattern 2015

UPSC Preliminary Examination for The Civil Services is Objective type (MCQs) examination for 400 Marks with two papers. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.

Paper-I will be held on Morning Session or Forenoon Session with General Studies for 200 Marks. Total of 100 questions will be asked, each question carries 2 marks. Duration of the Examination is 2 hours.

Paper-II will be held on Afternoon Session with General Studies for 200 Marks. Total of 80 question will be asked, each question carries 2.5 marks. Total duration of the exam is 2 hours.

For each wrong answer given by the candidates, there will be penalty. For every wrong answer 1/3 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happen to be correct and there will be same penalty as above for that question.

Syllabus of Paper I – (200 marks) Duration: Two hours

1.Current events of national and international importance.

2.History of India and Indian National Movement.

3.Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.

4.Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy,Rights Issues, etc. 

5.Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

6.General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization

7.General Science

Syllabus for Paper II-(200 marks) Duration: Two hours

1.Comprehension

2.Interpersonal skills including communication skills

3.Logical reasoning and analytical ability

4.Decision making and problem solving ability

5.General mental ability

6.Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level)

7.English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).

8.Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
